Day 29 Heading to Cape Jervis

Beautiful clear morning with a stunning sunrise I took through the window of the van first

But then I realised I needed to get up and out if I wanted to get a decent shot
mist still all over the water

Moon still visible

Droplets of dew on the tips of the branches

We had a lovely campsite on our own right down the end of the park unfortunately it was quite a distance from the amenities and the camp kitchen so I needed Bill to come and help carry the basket with the washing up back to the van

Mist gradually lifting

We emptied our blackwater tank at the dump point here
Love their sense of humour
Penny wise from Stephen King’s ‘if’

Another interesting road crossing sign
There was a turtle crossing one just around the corner that I missed taking a photo of

Interesting story here that I have never heard of before

A lovely boat sculpture at the entrance to the jetty in Meningie

We left Meningie quite late because we first of all filled up with fuel and then did some shopping - stocked up on a few supplies
Out onto the Princes Highway

Stopped at this supposed pink lake

Which wasn’t really pink

Continuing on the Princes Highway

But turned off towards Wellington

Along the Fleurieu way

Towards Langhorne Creek

Arriving at the ferry across the Murray River at Wellington

Took note of some of the advertising/information signage

And read the ferry users rules whilst waiting for the ferry

We missed the first trip across as there was a big motorhome in front of us waiting to cross

Took this spot image as we were crossing

A couple of classic cars waiting to cross

Passed through Wellington

Spotted this cyclist going the other way

Took the turn off to Milang

Reaching the wine growing region of Langhorne Creek

Where we decided to pull up and have lunch and a drink at the Meechi brewery and Winehouse

We shared a couple of delicious entree dishes

Bill had a local beer and I had a glass of local bubbles

The spot showed that we had been there awhile

Whilst waiting for our lunch we did a little bit of research online as to what was available on Kangaroo Island so that we could plan how we were going to spend our day

We even had desert and I had an Affogato

Our table was right next to this array of local wines

I went out the back to get some photos of the grapevines before we left

And took a photo of the back of the restaurant

And a photo of the front as we were leaving

Took photos of buildings and sites along our journey

Love this sign at the entry to Milang

More signs and sites along our way

And we eventually arrived at our destination for the night

Our HEMA tracking for the day

Chose a nice little spot in the unpowered area beside some trees and on some beautiful green grass

Some guineafowl came out to greet us

That evening we received a phone call from Gynetyck’s house where Corina Bronwyn was around there with Brianna to celebrate her birthday

Beautiful sunset over the ocean from our camping spot
