Day 31 Lay Day

Just after we got home last night a couple pulled up right next to us in the dark and proceeded to erect a tiny tent between their car and us. Away went our privacy and solitude!!! Lots of door opening and closing!! Out of all the spaces in the whole unpowered area they chose to set up bang next to us!!!!
Thank goodness they left this morning
We needed a whole day where we stayed put and didn’t travel as there were a few things needing attention
Made the most of the amenities here and the sunshine  - stripped the bed and did a huge wash

And Bill did some very much needed maintenance on the van

Oh dear - brake pads worn right down

I made up a salad to have for lunch
After Bill had cleared away his work things and I had put away the washing and made the bed we headed out to explore the surrounding area of Cape Jarvis
First we drove up to the lookout at the top of the bill behind

Then we drove along the top of the ridge towards the wind turbines that we had seen the day before

There was a lot of smoke in the air and looking across to Kangaroo Island we could see that that was where the smoke was originating from but weren’t sure what it was

I was able to get right up close to one of the wind turbines and also take a photo of the information about the turbines

After this we drove down the hill

Past farming country

Towards Morgans beach

What a magic find

Could see the wind turbines on the hilltop behind

And beautiful coloured rocks

These are my favourite photos of lichen coloured rocks

Also spotted some filigree looking seaweed amongst the rocks

Interesting information about Morgans beach

We then drove down towards the Lighthouse

Where we could also see down to where the Sealink ferry goes from

Next stop was the pub

Where we had a drink, some dinner and then came away with some supplies

Took these photos on the way back from the pub to the campsite

Beautiful sunset again tonight

Took so many photos as the sky kept changing
